Class of 1966
Two band stories:
During a Memorial Day parade the last row, clarinets, were 'run down' be a group of Shriners on go carts. The band did a showy cadence of four 90 degree turns in eight beats. Band stopped moving forward, go carts did not!
Second, during another parade on a Sunday morning, there was a letter in the South Bend Tribune asked that the band refrain from warming up playing "Birth of the Blues" during their morning service. Imagine the smiles in the congregation!
