About Me | Life in EMS = You are bound to get a call either during dinner, while you are on the can, or at 02:00 in the middle of a great dream. A Metro-Atlanta native Greg attended the Cobb County Center for Excellence in the Performing Arts (CCCEPA) at Pebblebrook High School graduating in 2004 with a technical Theatre & design major. While a student he was the first lighting designer to design a production in the newly built state of the art James Wilson Black Box Theatre that opened in February of 2004. In the summer of 2005 Greg worked as a production intern for the Spoleto Festival USA in Charleston, SC primarily as a scenic carpenter on the opera Don Giovanni. After completing his internship at Spoleto Greg returned to Pebblebrook as CCCEPA’s interim technical director designing scenery and lighting for two productions before leaving CCCEPA to begin studies at Berry College in Rome, GA. While a student at Berry he designed five main stage productions including winning the 2006-07 award for best student design for My Funny Valentine: An Evening of Cabaret. From 2005 to 2007 Greg served as the lighting designer for the Essential Theatre in Atlanta, GA designing six productions including four world premiers. In 2008 Greg was honored to win the Metropolitan Atlanta Theatre Award for Best Lighting Design of a Play for his work on Night Travels with the Essential Theatre. From July to October of 2010 Greg was the resident lighting designer for the music venue at Broad Street Station in Rome where he has had the honor to design for regional and national acts including Dangerous New Machine, Kiss Army, Self Serve, and Fifty-Three to Nowhere.
