About Me	Lived in Costa Rica since 1968. I first came here on an exchange program through the National 4-H Foundation. I lived with Costa Rican families and worked in the Cooperative Extension Office. I returned to Michigan for 7 months and took a training job for the same program in San Jose, Costa Rica. I've had opportunities to do many things that have kept life exciting. I worked for the Costa Rican - North American Cultural Center for 22 years as an ESL teacher and as Director of Cultural Activities. I met my husband here; we were married in 1991. He called CT home, but lived in Costa Rica about 35 years. He passed away in 2012. I am retired, but am very active with The Women's Club of Costa Rica, which provides scholarships for needy young people to attend High School and the University and textbooks for students in rural primary schools, where most of the ch...(read more)
