I actually served on active duty for one year, seven months, twenty-two days. The Vietnam War was ending and draftees were separated after eighteen months. I served at Fort Sheridan, Illinois at the Fifth Army Data Processing Center and Hanau, Germany at a Third Armor Division Data Processing Unit.
