About Me	Other than my time in the service I've always lived in St Louis. Before the pandemic I traveled extensively with my soul mate, Cyndy. But my family is here and while there are some not so good things about the city, there are still many good things. I've been retired for 12 years and have never looked back. There was way more to life than work! I had a 37 year career in the IT world and felt I made a contribution where ever I worked. But when the opportunity came to step out of the workforce it wasn't a hard decision. After high school I attended UMSL but did not enjoy the "commuter college" scene. I wanted to transfer to the "big school" in Columbia but my parents didn't agree. So I taught them a lesson and joined the Marines. I think I taught myself a lesson....But I also grew up quick! I enlisted in the Corps with Fred Schleuter and we were together until we were sent overseas in 1970. After a tour in Vietnam and a short stint in South Carolina I was discharged and returned home to go back to school. Computers were the "in" thing and I had scored well taking the tests in service. I began my IT career in 1972 at Rexall Drug and finished at Edward Jones in 2010. Along the way I also managed to earn a BS in Information Systems from Washington University in 1988.
