About	Assistant Chief Stephen E. Gessler of the Littel Falls Fire Department collapsed and passed away while participating in a search party for a suicidal man onSaturday, December 12, 1998. Steve was survived by his wife Deborah (Spiegel); two daughters, Jennifer and Susan Gessler; his parents Eugene J. and Lisa Gessler; and a brother Gregory J. Gessler. He was 44 years old.
