| About Me | U.S.Army 1961-1964, Germany with the 11th Armored Cavalry. Patrolled Czech Border. Scary at the end of the Berlin Crisis and the Cuban Missle Crisis. Graduated at Mississippi State in January 1969. Thank the Lord for the G.I. Bill, Part Time jobs and Summer Employment. Married Linda Johnson in Macon, GA in June, 1969. One of the major blessings of my Life. We had 3 children and now have 10 Grandchildren. Why the Lord continues to bless me defies logic but he does. Have worked in Personnel/Human Resources most of my career including Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. The blessing here was being able to get kids thru college debt free. My kids were debt free, not me but a true blessing none the less. Have circled the globe equivalent of 4 times and another blessing was to have the family with me most of the time. I totally enjoyed being on 8 start up teams overseas as well as here in the States. Have worked with Litton Industries, General Dynamics, Corning Glassworks, Bender Shipbuilding, Halter Marine, Mississippi R&D Center. Currently, manage a Contract Company supporting Halter Marine with skilled labor. Have hired over 2000 people in the last 5 years. There are blessings being able to help people who need a job. If I can figure out how to pay bills, eat and keep a roof over our head without working, I will retire. But, 2 previous retirements resulted in total boredom. Like thousands of others, we lost everything in Katrina but blessings continued. We have a new home on 2 acres in Gautier, the kids are doing well, bills are being paid and I need to miss a few meals but I don't. Thank the Lord that he keeps his word,...(read more) |
