| About Me | After graduating from Florida State University, I worked for the State of Florida as an "Unemployment Compensation Claims Examiner". From 1983-85, I attended Tallahassee Community College and received a certificate in Data Processing. Then worked as a Programmer/Analyst for Fla State U (1985-2009). In 1986, I started to correspond with several Filipino women and married one of them in Manila, Philippines (October, 1986). I was 39, and she was 25. Her name is Pilar, but she likes to be called Lai. In 1994, our one and only child was born. I am a member of and involved in the St. Louis Catholic Church. My 23 year old son, Mark, will be graduating with a Nursing degree in December, 2017, from Florida A and M University in Tallahassee. My wife's religious background is interesting. Her mother was a Muslim who converted to Christianity and raised the seven children in the Evangelical Protestant Tradition. Her conversion was not well received by the family, but they eventually accepted it. My wife, who has been successfully battling cancer for 19 years, works for the Florida Department of Agriculture as an Administrative Assistant. I am a nominal member of the Filipino-American Association in Tallahassee and occasionally attend their "get togethers". My wife, who is good at Computer Graphics, was quite involved in it for a few years and edited the "Tam Buli" (spelling may be wrong), the news sheet which is published about every quarter.
