About Me	First and foremost, I am a mother. I have 3 children, Matthew, Heather and Madeline. I also have beautiful grandsons: Everett, Xavier, Sullivan, Liam & Porter. The most handsome boys in the world, oh yes, and the smartest, too! I'm grateful to have had so many amazing women in my family. My mother and grandmother helped me to become a strong, independent woman. I am a widow. My husband, James Harwig passed away on January 3, 2014. Just one look into his eyes, and I thought "There you are! I found You!" The love of a lifetime, if you are lucky enough. It's because of him that I know true love is real. I hope life has one more out there for me, because we all deserve at least one great love. Born and raised in Brooklyn Center, MN, I moved to Grand Marais, MN when I was 23 and raised my family in this beautiful little town. I am a small town girl at heart, and love and appreciate all the people who make up our diverse community. I sold real estate for over 20 years, along with appraising, and in 2004 switched to appraising only, after selling the real estate company I owned with my mother. In the summer, you might find me on Saturdays at the Farmer's Market in Grand Marais, selling my homemade jam and white chocolate bread. I'm so grateful to my parents for giving me a childhood full of music. My whole family was musical. Thinking back, most of my childhood revolved around music. My parents met in the 50's as part of a Minneapolis Choral group. My parents sang at church, so when I was little, I would go to their rehearsals on Wednesdays, and then on Sunday they would sing at both Sunday Morning services, many times one of them or the other would sing the solo, often they sang together as a duet. I've been a lifelong singer, participated in the District 279 Select Chorus from 3rd to 6th grade, which is a hand-selected group of kids, picked by Mr. Malewicki (I remember the videos as a kid in music class of him saying "Ta Ta Ti Ti Ta"). In Junior High I was in the BJH Singers. I have had the honor to sing backup vocals on many CD's, and from about 1990 - 2002 sang with a trio called "Debbie". In the height of our Debbie career, we sang on MPR, and did a tour around MN of small coffee shops. In the 90's I would sing on and off for special events with a band called "The Splinters". In the Summer of 2010 I joined the Splinters band full time. I was a member of Bicycle Army in 2010 and in 2011-2013 most of the band started a new band, "Earth, Wind and Todd", a 70's tribute band. This band was so much fun and the songs just come out because they seem to be a part of our DNA. I quit the band after my husband passed away, I just didn't have the energy for quite so much. I have two Pomeranians, Duke and Luna. I love to garden, and often find new places to make gardens. I love to travel, and was lucky enough to the Netherlands (I am part Dutch), Italy and Switzerland in April, 2015 with my mother, brother and sister in law.
