| About Me | I’ve spent 39 years in the telecommunications industry with 31 of those years employed Omaha Public Power District. I retired on February 1st, 2019 as a Sr. Network Engineer in the Data Transport Services department (formerly named the Communications department). Upon retirement my primary duties were system administration and maintenance of a Cisco Unified Communications VoIP system and an Avaya Aura VoIP call center system. Previously I held the positions of Field Supervisor - Communications, and Sr. Communications Technician working on Cisco Call Manager (VoIP), an Avaya Aura call center (VoIP), traditional TDM PBX systems (Rolm, Siemens, Avaya/Lucent, AT&T, and others), voicemail systems, 2-way radio & paging, data circuits, and -48v DC power systems. In addition, I've been a certified tower climber. I climbed my employer’s twenty-six radio/microwave towers inspecting, maintaining, and repairing the tower structures, feedlines, lighting, grounding, and antenna systems.
