About June 29, 1958 - December 5, 2015
John M Earnest, (Earnie) of Cedar Creek formerly from Papillion, had a zest for life, an fun loving personality, and was passionate about his barbeque, hunting, Green Bay Packers and Nebraska Football. He loved the BBQ world and won many awards over the years. Earnie enjoyed mentoring others in the BBQ craft always willing to share his knowledge with anyone who wanted to learn. He loved his family, fine foods, spirits, and traveling throughout his life. When he wasn't cooking BBQ you could find him sitting in a duck blind, watching football, or at a NCAA College World Series game. He frequently attended his nieces and nephews athletic events and his voice was loud and proud cheering them on. Earnie never met a stranger and was loved by many, he was the type of guy that would give you the shirt off his back or chase after kids at Halloween to make sure they had enough candy in their bags. He was known as the life of the party and kept everyone laughing, it wasn't unusual for him to break out in song and be a total goof ball. His life partner Michelle Morar enjoyed many years competing in BBQ events and competitions, sporting events, and building a catering business together.

He is survived by his fiancé Michelle Morar, parents, John W. and LaVonne Earnest; sisters, Kathy Roehrig, Terri Scholting, (Greg) Laurie Earnest-Little and many nieces and nephews who truly enjoyed his playful spirited behavior. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the John M. Earnest Memorial Fund.
