Events | Dylan Edward Baker (95) passed away on December 14, 2020 Dylan Edward Baker (43), loving husband and father of two boys passed away on December 14, 2020 at his home in Olathe, Kansas. Visitation will be held 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary-Eudora Chapel 1003 John L. Williams Drive. Funeral service for Dylan will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 18, 2020 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary-Eudora Chapel. The burial will follow the funeral service at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens at 23215 W. 75th St. Shawnee, KS at 1:00 PM. Dylan was born to Mark Edward Baker and Sandi Jean (Beebe) Norton. He is a graduate of Papillion-LaVista High School in Papillion, Nebraska. Following high school, Dylan served four years in the United States Marine Corp based at Camp Pendleton, San Diego, California receiving an honorable discharge in 2000. Dylan married his high school sweetheart Lori and they have celebrated 21 years in marriage. They settled in Olathe, Kansas to start their family having two sons, Colin (13) and Jay (11). Dylan was passionate about cars, golf, sports, fishing, hunting and his career, but most of all his family. He was a devoted sports dad. You could always find he and Lori cheering proudly in the stands for their boys. He was equally caring and passionate about his work as District Manager at Beacon Roofing Company. Dylan is preceded in death by his father, Mark Baker, stepfather Philip Norton, and father-in-law Ernie Dearinger. He is survived by wife Lori, his two children Colin and Jay (their dogs, Ted and Howy), mother Sandi (Beebe) Norton, sister Skye Golling, her husband Todd, children Chloe and Bryce. Other survivors include grandparents James and Jean Beebe in addition to aunts and uncles, Miles and Paula Schnaer, Jim and Karen Beebe, mother-in-law Nancy Dearinger, sister-in-law Dawn Belik, husband Dan, children Chris and Kira, sister-in-law Cheri, children Taylor, Jace and Macy, many cousins and friends including special friends Nick and Stephanie Babcock, children Sam and Jack. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lori Baker for Colin and Jay’s college funds and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary 120 W. 13th Street Lawrence, KS 66044 |
