Events | Kevin Ray Carlson (2011) October 15, 1992 – October 20, 2022 Kevin Ray Carlson, 30 of Papillion, NE passed away Thursday, October 20, 2022. To honor Kevin's memory, we are holding a celebration of life on November 5, 2022 at the home of Michelle and Kevin Krecklow at 2080 Stillwater Drive, Papillion, NE at 4:00PM. We invite anyone who knew him to attend. Born October 15, 1992 in Houston, TX. Kevin moved with his family to Papillion, NE in 2000. Survivors include his father, Vern Carlson (Kate Ruger) of Papillion, his mother Karin (Morse) Carlson of Omaha, his sister Heather Carlson of Bellevue, grandparents Gene and Gerri Carlson of Grand Island, NE. He was proceeded in death by his grandparents Vance and Lydia Morse. Kevin graduated from Papillion/La Vista South High School in 2011. He received an Associate's Degree in 2D Animation from Metropolitan Community College. Kevin was a talented artist with an eccentric humor that all who knew him adored. Kevin was a creative soul with an abstract mind. He recognized the importance of family and friends, and realized that the internet is a way to disconnect or connect. The internet can be a powerful tool for knowledge and good, or evil, but in the end it is a way to communicate and connect. As we remember Kevin, please reflect on his favorite quote from " The Lord of the Rings:" " I wish the ring had never come to me...I wish none of this had happened." "So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time given to us." We leave you with an excerpt from Kevin’s Mantra: “Today is a new day with new experiences, discard all of yesterday's truths. Be completely sensitive to each moment, in regarding it as utterly new and unique, in having the mind open and wholly receptive."
