Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon, US A memorial service for Thelma Elizabeth LaMar, a Northeast Portland resident, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Rose City Park Presbyterian Church.
She died of heart problems Friday in a Portland hospital. Mrs. LaMar was 86.
She was born June 19, 1906, in Nickerson, Neb. She married Charles H. LaMar on April 3, 1927, in Papillion, Neb., and the couple moved to the Portland area in 1942.
Mrs. LaMar was a homemaker. She had worked at the old Lipman Wolfe & Co. department store for five years until 1950. She was a longtime member of Rose City Park Presbyterian Church. Her husband and her son, Charles W. LaMar, died earlier.
Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy Waltie of Portland; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Private entombment will be in Rose City Cemetery Mausoleum.
The family suggests remembrances be contributions to a memorial fund at Rose City Park Presbyterian Church or to a favorite charity.
