She was born April 1, 1925 to Emil and Martha (Dorow) Schauland in Papillion, NE where she graduated from High School. She went on to complete her nursing degree in Omaha, NE. On September 8, 1946 she married Harold "Bud"Hoden. They celebrated their 50th Anniversary in 1996 with a cruise to Alaska. The family moved to Colorado in 1953 where she devoted her time to her family and continued her nursing career as a private nurse from time to time. She enjoyed painting, crafts and reading. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed watching the Nuggets, Rockies and Broncos. Although being outspoken, she was a very generous and caring person. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and The Red Hat Society. Mrs. Hoden is survived by sons, Thomas (Jeanine) Hoden of Aurora, James (Fran) Hoden of Henderson, CO; grandchildren, Ash Hoden of San Diego, CA, Nate Hoden of Atlanta, GA, Paulette (Kevin) Davis of Parker, CO, Tammy (John) Van Howe of San Antonio, TX; great-grandchildren, Johnny Van Howe, Stephanie Van Howe and Kristen Van Howe all of San Antonio; and a sister, Naomi (Tom) Nolan of Charlotte, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; four sisters and one brother. Friends may visit from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. Sunday, August 30, 2009 at Adamson Chapel, 2000 47th Avenue in Greeley. Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3000 35th Avenue, Greeley. Memorial Contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in care of Adamson Funeral & Cremation Services, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley.
