Events	Matthew James Ryder (2001) March 27, 1983,-February 23, 2017 Matthew James Ryder, age 33, passed away at his home in Papillion on Thursday, February 23, 2017. Matt was born on March 27, 1983, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, to Benjamin and Kimberly Ryder. Matt was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Gene Sadaj; paternal grandparents, Jim and Jeanne Ryder. He is survived by his loving wife, Katie; four sons: Mason, Eli, Owen, and Logan; beloved Labradoodle, Maggie, whom Matt named after his favorite song, Sugar Magnolia. He is also survived by his parents, Benjamin and Kimberly Ryder; three siblings: Stephen (wife Trisha and their sons Zachary and Adam), Kelly Ryder (husband Dylan Greene and their son Lucas and daughter Hallie), and Andrew Ryder; two of his best friends, Tommy Reynolds whom he has known for 27 years, and Steven Murley, whom he has known for 18 years; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. A 2001 graduate of Papillion-LaVista High School, Matt earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha and was working toward a Master’s degree from Creighton University. Matt served as a Financial Advisor for Prudential Financial Services, dedicating his time and efforts to helping others prepare for their futures. He worked tirelessly to provide security and peace of mind to all of those he helped. Matt and Katie were wed on July 12, 2008, and welcomed four beautiful boys into their lives. He spent much of his time playing with and reading to his four active boys. One of their favorite outings with their dad was getting Happy Meals with him on Sunday afternoons. He was an avid soccer player, fan of Manchester United, history buff, home improvement enthusiast, and all around tinkerer. As a result of countless family vacations, he and his siblings shared a love of Walt Disney World, our family spending many memorable days at the Polynesian Resort, and Disneyland. Matt possessed boundless energy, an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, and an innate desire to teach others. Matt put 100% into everything he did. His dedication and passion were self-evident in each of his endeavors. Though he rarely won, he would stay up late playing video games with his youngest brother, Andrew. The time they spent together was worth more than the outcome of the game. Matt fiercely loved his family and friends, often acting as a trusted leader to those around him. As the oldest of four siblings, he was always our protector, our guide, and our hero. You are truly, deeply, and unconditionally loved; treasured husband, son, and brother. We will think of you every day and keep you in our hearts forever. May we meet again
