Events Cynthia A. Pool (81)
March 27, 1963 - December 29, 2017

Beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Born in North Forestville, Maryland she became a proud

Cornhusker whose heart never left the Hawaiian Islands she first experience only months after her birth

thanks to being born into a Naval family. The exotic locales of her early years (Honolulu, Subic Bay and

Midway Island) fueled a lifelong love of travel, be it for work, Nebraska Football or continual returns to

the 50th State. She first came to Nebraska in 1969 as the family transitioned from military transients and

laid down roots in the hills of Papillion. She graduated from Papillion High in 1981 then attended the

University of Nebraska where she welcomed an additional layer of family into her life through the

sisterhood of Phi Mu sorority. After graduation in 1985, she began a long career with the Principal

Financial group, moving from Des Moines to San Antonio before settling in Colorado Springs where she

could marvel in the majesty of the Rockies and take long walks with her dogs, first Murphy and later

Lafayette who she rescued in 2012. While based in the mountains, her professional pursuits later

required her frequent trips to India and the Philippines, discovering each region’s exotic charms and

mysteries with relish. She is survived by her parents Chuck & Jackie Pool of Papillion; brother Chuck Jr. ,

his wife Laura and children Kevin (wife Casey and son Kaleb), Cameron, Kelli and Courtney of Pearland

Texas; and sisters Kathy, her husband Kelly Anderson and children Ashley and Michael of Firth; and

Jennifer and daughter Melanie of Papillion who knew her as a devoted sister-in-law and aunt.
