Delmar Arthur Lienemann, Sr., son of Arthur and Dorothea (Marth) Lienemann, was born May 17, 1920, in Papillion, Nebraska. He was baptized in 1920 at First Lutheran Church in Papillion, Nebraska and he confirmed this faith as a teenager in the same church. His faith journey ended September 17, 2018 when he was called home by his Lord and Savior.

On June 17, 1944, Del and Charlotte Peck were married at Second Presbyterian Church in Lincoln, Nebraska. Their marriage was blessed with seven children, four boys and three girls. Together, Del and Charlotte worked as a team to raise their children, care for their terminally ill son, David, run successful businesses, develop real estate, serve in elected office, travel the world, and volunteer for countless local charitable organizations. They enjoyed over fifty years of marriage before Charlotte died on March 16, 1995.

Del graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1941 with a degree in accounting. He briefly enjoyed working for others before starting his own CPA firm in 1945, and worked actively in the firm and in other business ventures until his retirement at age 94. He also served on various civic and church committees and boards such as the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra Foundation, the Ethel S. Abbott, Lienemann and Sterns Charitable Foundations, the Red Cross, Beta Sigma Psi Fraternity and the Sertoma Club. Del enjoyed politics and was the Lancaster County Commissioner from 1954-1958 and ran for Governor of Nebraska in 1960.

Del had many interests and hobbies. He developed real estate in Estes Park, Colorado, where he also loved to spend time vacationing in the home he and Charlotte built in memory of their son David. He also golfed, bowled, and played bridge and pitch with friends. Del was an avid fan of Nebraska football and enjoyed music and theater. He traveled extensively making it to 55 countries and all 50 states. He enjoyed living the majority of his adult life in the home he and Charlotte built in Lincoln in 1950 until his death.

Del’s faith in God was displayed openly and in a variety of ways. He prayed faithfully and dutifully to the end, often telling others he would pray for them and their needs. Del was confident that when he died he would see Jesus face to face and that brought him true peace.
