Family and friends are mourning the death of a 25-year-old man killed in a crash over the Memorial Day weekend.

Dozens of muscle cars and motorcycles rode united Monday, pushing for awareness after Jeremy Liford died Sunday when his motorcycle collided with an Acura near Harrison Street and Giles Road.

According to family members, Liford graduated from Papillion-La Vista South High School and the University of Nebraska-Omaha.

After college, he started work at ConAgra, where he had been employed for the last three years.

KETV NewsWatch 7’s Chinh Doan spoke Monday to his parents, who currently live in Tennessee.

They described Liford as kind, courteous and caring of others’ feelings, and they said he loved his job.

Liford's best friend, Brandon Ciurej, said he loved working on cars, riding his motorcycle and hanging out with members of the Heartland Modern Mopars Car Club.

"He loved us and we loved him very much," Brandon's mother, Kathy Ciurej, said.

"He loved going out with us and getting his car out and going on these cruises together," Tom Ciurej said. "We're basically one giant family."

Monday afternoon, dozens of Liford's friends gathered and formed a procession of cars and motorcycles in his honor. With their flags waving and photos of Liford on their car windows, they cruised to the scene of the deadly crash.

"I was actually in front of him when it happened. I saw him go down, and I turned around and went back to help him out," Brandon said. "Every time I talked to him he brought a smile to my face."

Friend Richard Orris said many people will miss Liford.

"That fraction of a second that you're not paying attention -- it impacts so many people's lives," he said.

Funeral arrangement are pending, and the crash remains under investigation.

La Vista police said once the report is finished, the case will be sent to the Sarpy County Attorney, who will decided whether charges will be filed.

The driver of the Acura, Joshua Spencer, 36, of Omaha, could face charges of failing to yield the right of way, which would amount to misdemeanor motor vehicle homicide
