| About Me | I grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado and went to Palmer High School. I graduated from Pikes Peak Community College with an AS in Early Childhood Education/Child Development. I opened a Child Care Center in Woodland Park, CO. I moved to Florida and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida. I spent several years working for and on the behalf of children and their families. I started out as a teacher,then as a Child Care Center Director. In order to pursue career goals, I began working for a Florida Central Agency providing subsidized programs for preschoolers, school-aged children and their families. I held positions as an Education Coordinator, Director of Education, Human Resource Director and was President of the Space Coast Chapter (SCAEYC) of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). I returned to Colorado Springs to attend Webster University to earn a Masters in Human Resources, Training and Staff Development while I cared for my ill mother. After Mom got better and I completed my studies, I returned to Florida. To pack up. It was on to Clarion, Pennsylvania where I began a new career direction as a crisis Mental Health Family Therapist and Supported Work Counselor for the County. After a few years of doing therapy, I was offered and accepted an extended consultant contract in Montrose, Colorado to assist local area churches in need of assistance with their preschool programs. After my consultant contract was completed I decided to change directions once again and went on a pilgrimage. I traveled through Central and South America, Spain and Portugal, Canada and extensively across the USA. Afterward, I experience an epiphany of sorts and decided to become an independent, self-employed consultant and writer. The company is called 'Perspectives in Learning Organizations'. I am settled for now in Montgomery, Alabama where I reside today with my puppy pals; three dogs named Doc, Thor (Pomeranians), Campbell (Scottish Terrier), and UnSub (Unknown Subject from the Criminal Minds TV show), a Scotty-Pom hybrid. I am working on several projects, including my third book. I have one son, Shawn, who ROCKS and lives in Los Angeles, California.
