| About Me | Have spent the last 20 years in the legal field since 1989, working for 3 law firms in Anchorage and 3 attorneys in the Valley -- worked as a legal assistant for a law firm handling Exxon litigation, traveled to Cordova and Seldovia to meet with our clients and work on discovery; worked as a legal assistant handling personal injury claims for several attorneys; from 1998 to 2006 (8 yrs), I worked at the Mat-Su Borough as a Legal Secretary in the Borough Attorney's Office, handling all administrative and litigation and department issues; currently working for the State of Alaska, Attorney General, Department of Law as a Law Office Assistant in the Child Protection Section. Legal work has been my passion. For five years I was able to spend some quality time with my girls (in between my time with the MSB and now with the SOA) and during that time, I was able to design my dreamhome, which took all of 5 years! During this time we bought and sold some property and bought acouple horses and finally ended up with 7 acres which we fenced and built a beautiful country home with a victorian look... all the gables and details that I wanted. J&M Homes was the builder and what an amazing job they did. Our home is listed on their website as the "Adelina" which I named after my grandmother who, unfortunately, never got a chance to see our new home. I have to give credit to my amazing husband, Craig, who, for the past 28 years, has had alot of patience....we did divorce in 1992 and remarried in 1996. Our first wedding in 1983 was a traditional Catholic wedding that took place in Talkeetna... our 2nd wedding took place in Hawaii in a garden with us wearing shorts and a tie-dye dress (I was the one in the dress!). He has been a solid rock in my life, hardworking, always putting his family first...without him, my dreamhome would have never been a reality! All his efforts and hard work and extra shifts just show his unyielding dedication... Craig has been a sloper for the past 22 years and is now an operator with BP. We live a quiet country life -- some may even consider boring -- we are pretty much homebodies. We are both involved in work that we enjoy that ended up being career fields for both of us... me in legal and Craig in the oil field. When we are not working, then we are just hanging out at home.... and if we aren't at home, we are probably meeting up with our girls somewhere to go out to dinner and a movie -- we seem to do that alot. We have 3 daughters, Miranda is 22 and plans to get married in September. Brooke-Lyn is 18 and graduating from Colony this spring. Coryl will be 17 in June and will be a senior at Colony in the fall.
