Donald A Mayfield
Class of 1959
Though I didn't "walk" at graduation. I had a reason. My dad was chased out of town by creditors because of real estate deals gone bad. He was a big kid, had big ideas, but a very small pocketbook.
We moved to Riverside where he could escape the blood-suckers who called daily. I picked up, as kids do, graduated and went on the UCLA and UCR--even UCB for a summer (not the "Love" one). Currently I'm writing about my time on the desert (1950-1958)--and would like info on everything and everybody I knew--Please believe I have no ax to grind and am able to tell a pretty story.
BTW, you may have known me as Pug--and that I played the trumpet, alongside Rob Faulkner (trumpet) and Bill Goodwin (drummer w/ Phil Woods)
