Douglas Edward Evans

Obituary: Douglas Edward Evans, 56, Palisades 1976
Douglas Edward Evans, a native of Doylestown, Pennsylvania, who grew up in his family’s amusement park business in West Point, PA, and later was a master cabinetmaker, died suddenly January 3, 2015, in Hawaii of a brain aneurysm. He was 56 years old.
Mr. Evans, a 1976 graduate of Palisades High School, spent his summers working at West Point Park with his father, William D. Evans, and his brother, William Bruce Evans. He was a descendant of Edward G. Booz, a noted 19th century cabinetmaker in Carversville, Bucks County.
After attending Pepperdine University in Malibu and UCLA, California, he opened a fine-cabinetry studio in Southern California, later moving to Kailua on the Hawaiian island of Oahu, where he was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
He is survived by his mother, Madeliene Booz Evans of Souderton, PA; his father William Davis Evans of Quakertown, PA; two brothers, William Bruce Evans of Sellersville, PA, and Ronald Keith Evans of Pleasonton, California; a nephew, William Tyler Evans of Telford, PA.; and five cousins. Interment will be private. Donations in Mr.Evans’ name may be made to Last Chance Ranch Animal Rescue in Quakertown, PA.
