About Me | Earning PhD - Criminal Justice. Mom to a great gal. Govmt detective and part time college professor. Tall.Blonde.Witty. Sweet. Fun-loving. and Happy!!!! I am a mom to a beautiful 16 year old girl, and so blessed to have such a wonderful, smart, beautiful, sweet child! It hasn't been easy being a single mom, but I don't use that as a crutch and in fact it has made me stronger! I am very independent. I recently finished grad school - and am completing a PhD in Criminal Justice, making me an educated, sophisticated, complex mess LOL ... I was born to catch dragons in their dens ... And pick flowers... To tell tales and laugh away the morning... To drift and dream like a lazy stream, And walk barefoot across sunshine days. ~James Kavanaugh, "Sunshine Days and Foggy Nights" It's been a long road but one well worth it.. couldn't have done it without the love and support of my mom, sister, niece, and most of all... my daughter. Why? Because she is my hero, and I am her number one fan.. and she is mine. My life would be empty without her. She endures so much as a child with juvenile diabetes, and yet she keeps on going, with a positive attitude. How could I not succeed with her on my team, in my corner, cheering me on? I believe in sleeping in. I believe in giving 100% when you only have 80%. I believe in jamming out by yourself in the car. I believe in kisses on the forehead. I believe in smiling until your cheeks hurt. I believe that you can have just as much fun sober. I believe in taking chances and making mistakes. I believe in having someone tell you that you’re beautiful. I believe in swinging on swings and running in the rain. I believe in miracles and random acts of kindness. I believe in saying hello to anyone and everyone. I believe in second chances. I believe that everyone’s lucky to be alive. I spend a lot of my free time volunteering with JDRF - Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation... and I was recently named Advocacy Team Chair, and member of the Board of Directors for the Kentuckiana Chapter of JDRF. I also mentor newly diagnosed type 1 diabetic kids and their families in the eastern Ky area. JDRF is making great strides for a cure for type 1 aka "juvenile" diabetes... Finding a cure faster through Advocacy! I am full time investigator/ detective for a government agency, and I am a part time professor of Criminal Justice at a nearby college. I also am assistant coaching the girls' high school soccer team :) and team mom.. love every minute of it! As a law enforcement officer, my fundamental duty is to serve mankind; to safeguard lives and properties; to protect the innocent against deception, the weak against oppression or intimidation, and the peaceful against violence or disorder; and to respect the Constitutional rights of all men to liberty, equality, and justice. On looking back on my life, I believe that in all the adversity there is always an equivalent seed of opportunity...even though at the time one can't see it, it is there, and we need to recognize it, cultivate it, grow it and use it. As we go on down the road of life, those adversities, traumas, will serve you to serve others and bring healing... or they will destroy you and your life. I choose to learn from life's lessons and do all I can to live a happy, healthy, faithful life... serving God.. and following my mantra... LIVE, LAUGH, LOVE :) “But just as you excel in everything--in FAITH, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your LOVE for us--see that you also excel in this GRACE of giving.” ~ 2 Corinthians 8:7 **PRIVACY NOTICE** Warning--any person and/or institution and/or Agent and/or Agency of any governmental structure including but not limited to the United States Federal Government also using or monitoring/using this website or any of its associated websites, you do NOT have my permission to utilize any of my profile information nor any of the content contained herein including, but not limited to my photos, and/ or the comments made about my photo's or any other "picture" art posted on my profile.
