Mr. Dale Harris passed away at his home in Oxford, AL on the evening of August 17, 2008. Dale had battled colon cancer since 1999. He fought a long and hard fight. We all know that he is in a better place and FREE of pain. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Judy O. Harris; mother, Evelyn Harris; son, Bradley Harris and his wife Teresa; daughter, Leslie P. Harris; grandchildren, Carson Harris and Reagan Payne; sisters, Lara Harris Waits and her husband, Chris, Mary Jo Harris O’Dell and her husband, Mike, Brenda Harris Carling and her husband, Bill. Dale was preceded in death by his father, Billie Joe Harris and his brother, Larry Wayne Harris. Dale will be remembered as a loving father and husband. Dale was a member of Hill Crest Baptist Church and the Encouragers Sunday School Class. He was retired from the Anniston Army Depot after 32 ½ years of service. Dale was a member of the Oxford Masonic Lodge and the Sons of Confederate Veterans. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. Dale graduated from Oxford High School in 1966. He resided in Oxford for over 50 years of his life.
