Oh, one more funny thing.......we were 7-ish......decided to walk down to Gute's drugstore. As we were looking at the candy we decided it would be okay to 'borrow' a candy bar. We ran out of the store, crossed the street and ran like the devil down Dewey Street. She was caught, I was not. When they asked who she was she said she was me, and gave MY address!' They let her go, and that was the end of EVER taking anything again the rest of our lives. However, I still hung it over her head for outing ME for the next 63 years.

Connie & Susie shadows of friendship. Eerie but beautiful.

'Susie' was there since we were both 3 years old. It's so very hard not calling her to this day just to say 'what's new'. I loved her voice mail messages which I miss because she always said 'hey, it's me......', like 'me' was the only me I would know.....and I did. We shared soooo much......I remember us chasing Brad VanPelt down Exchange street one day and made him cry.....so mean of us! We were 8.
We were kicked out of brownies at age 7 one day after I defended her against a big brute of a girl who was pushing her. (Patti K.) Unfortunately, the brute was the daughter of the assoc. scout leader, therefore, blame was assigned to us.
Driving my VW at 16 yrs old on a Sunday past the church on N. Gould street and I stalled it just as services were getting out. We were wearing bathing suits. We had to get out and call her friend MaryAnne to rescue us because I didn't know how to change from 1st gear.
I unfortunately had to leave Owosso in 1961 when my family moved to Corunna, then Greenville, only to return to Owosso my Sr. year. That was hard. My brownie troop girls were now 11 years older, and Brad was a huge athelete. So many stories.... CLW
