Hello Classmates,

Our 45th high school reunion is scheduled for August 3 & 4 in Owensboro. The cost of the reunion is $50/person. Please make checks payable to OHS 73 and mail them in c/o Pilot Steel, Inc., 2301 Triad Dr, Owensboro, 42301. Many thanks to Ray and Susan Assmar for agreeing to collect the money in advance of the reunion. If you would like to donate more than the cost of the reunion to sponsor classmates who cannot afford the cost of the reunion, your donations will be greatly appreciated. We had 8 classmates who were able to attend our 40th reunion thanks to generous donors in the class. EVERYONE is invited and encouraged to attend:) Please RESPOND to me NOW to let me know if you will/will not/might attend the reunion.

All reunion events are CASUAL. Friday, August 3 we will meet at Friday After Five at the River Park Center. Please look for our table in the lobby area of River Park Center to check-in. Saturday, August 4, we will meet at River Park Center beginning at 6 PM. Thanks to Scott Prather for arranging volunteers to staff our check-in tables on Friday and Saturday night. Saturday evening will have heavy h’orderves catered by the Miller House. We will have our class photo taken at 7 PM, so please make sure you are there by 6:30 PM to take part. The photographer will be set-up to take small group photos as well. Many thanks to Ralph Thacker for arranging the photographer. We will have a memorial area set up on Saturday evening to honor our departed classmates. Many thanks to Frances Higgs Autry for heading this up. If you know of any classmates that have passed away over the last 5 years, please let me know so that I can send that information along to Frances.

For those folks who care to attend, we will have a very casual gathering at the Hampton Inn on the River on Thursday evening beginning at 6 PM on the Hampton back lawn. We might have a suite to use that evening as well. The Hampton Inn check-in desk will know, so if you do not see us on the back lawn, check with the front desk.

We have blocks of room reserved for the class at the Hampton Inn and the Holiday Inn, both on the River near the convention center. Both hotels will release our blocks of rooms and our discount on July 4th. Please make your reservation with them ASAP and be sure and mention you are with the OHS 73 group. The Hampton Inn contact phone is 270.685.2005 and address is 401 W 2nd St. If you make your reservations on the internet on the Hampton.com site, they will not be able to give you the group discount. The Holiday Inn contact phone is 270.683.1111 and address is 701 W 1st St and website is www.holidayinn.com/owensboroky. If we have enough folks making reservations at those hotels, the hotels will donate hospitality rooms for our use.

We will have a tour of OHS on Saturday morning at 0930. We will meet in the lobby to begin the tour.

Many thanks to Bruce Smith for posting all the information on Facebook. Scott Prather and Bruce Smith have been very instrumental in helping with the reunion and I couldn’t do it without them.

Many classmates have changed their email addresses over the last five years. AND, it seems most classmates have changed their phone numbers over the last five years. Please do me two favors. First, please send me your mailing address and all of your phone numbers, even if you think I have your information. Second, please contact classmates you know and ask if they have received the reunion information. If they did not receive it, please have them contact me either via my email address or at 719.689.9390. This request is particularly important if you know classmates who do NOT have email addresses or do not utilize social media.
