Rendered honorable service in the US Navy Nuclear Program from January 1972 to January 1978 on USS Guadalcanal, LPH-7, USS Holland AS-32, and the commissioning crew of the USS Virginia, CGN-37. Duty stations included Norfolk, VA, Bainbridge, MD, Saratoga Springs, NY, Charleston, SC, Bremerton, WA, Holyloch, Scotland, and Portsmith Naval Shipyard, Portsmith, VA.
My military service taught me to love America and those I served. If I had my life to live all over again I wouldn't change a thing.

Served with the United States Armies 4th Infantry Division Dec. 1961 to Aug 1964. My Battlegroup the 1st BalttleGroup 8th Infantry was airlifted to Germany in Jan of 1962 and we were rotated into Berlin, Germany when the Berlin wall was being bulit. We returned to Fort Lewis Washington where I stayed until discharge in August of 1964. A footnote during the Cuban Missile Crisis we were trucked to McChord Air Force Base nearby and spent the night on the tarmac awaiting to deploy if President Kennedy authorized a invasion of Cuba. Most people don't realize how close to war we were at that time.
