About Me | Have been living in various places in Mexico for 8 years but do plan to move back to Richmond when the school year finishes (June 2009). Since I left Open I've moved back to Richmond a couple of times. I've also lived in Key West, Jacksonville, other places in Florida, near Chicago, briefly in San Antonio and Miami, also a year in San Diego. Never longer than 3 years in any one spot at a time (but did 3 years twice in Key West- who wouldn't?) until I came to Veracruz- will finish 5 yrs here before I leave. I've done the addiction thing, shaved my head bald, lived on the beach (homeless style), smoked crack, was a religious fanatic, went to university twice but only lasted a semester each time, joined (and left) the US Navy, married and divorced twice, have 2 incredible kids, was a stay-at-home-mom, taught English to the 2-7 year old age group for 4 years (2 years as the first grade teacher to a special, all-English class). I love the relaxed life on the water here too, and especially the lack of gringo tourists combined with the variety of gringos passing through for a year or two or camped here permanently, but it's almost time to get my shit together and be practical again- never lasts long wi...(read more) |
