Doreen Moritz

Class of 1964

Going to High School was a very lonely place. I knew I was different but didn't know what that difference was. Well it took about 30 years to figure out that my difference was that I was gay. Now I am sure that I was not the only gay person in my class but no one sure seemed to be talking. Now I am very thrilled to see that Gay Straight Alliances are in our schools and that maybe we have saved some lives as a result. I was very please to be inducted in the South High School Hall of Fame. However, the last I heard, my picture had been removed by a former principal. I now live in Fort Collins and am very happy with my life and my ability to be married. I would love to hear from others regarding your experiences.
