Lewis Rockhill Jones III
Class of 1973
COLUMBUS — Lewis Rockhill "Rocky" Jones III, 65, of Lakeview, passed away late Friday afternoon at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
He was born April 7, 1955 in Delaware to the late Lewis Rockhill Jones and Anne (Stout) Jones and later graduated from Olentangy High School in 1973. On August 1, 1981, he married the love of his life, Diana Evans. Together they shared 39 years of marriage raising 3 children.
Rocky retired from Scott's Miracle-Gro in Marysville and was a member of the Lakeview AmVets Post #39, Lakeview Eagles and Lakeview Moose Lodge. He was a former member of the Hiram Masonic Lodge #18 of Delaware, where has was a master mason. He was also a lifetime member of the Harley Owners Group.
He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, tinkering on his golf cart, and bowling and golfing when able.
In addition to his parents, Rocky was preceded in death by his brother Barney Jones and his brother-in-law John Mitchell.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Diana (Evans); sons, Jason (Claudia Martini) Jones of Destin, Florida and Brandon Jones of Columbus; daughter, Brooke Jones of Marysville; grandchildren, Molly and Henry Hastings and Victoria Jones; brother, Joseph (Beth) Jones of Cambridge; sisters, Judy (Jim) Howald and Debbie Mitchell of Cambridge; sister-in-law, Regina Jones of Marysville; numerous nieces and nephews; canine companions, Moose and Bailey.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive at W. William Street, Delaware, where funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in Newhouse Cemetery. Face masks and social distancing will be required for both.
