About | Perry L. Attwell OLEAN -- Perry L. Attwell, Sr., 60, passed away Sunday (February 25, 2024) at Olean General Hospital. Born October 27, 1963, in Olean, he was the son of Robert (Gloria Grove) Attwell and Perry Green. On September 25, 1982, in Portville, he married his high school sweetheart Ruth Matteson who survives. Perry was a 1981 graduate of Olean High School. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1988 and served until 1991. During his service, he was a part of Desert Storm. Over the years he has worked for Olean General, Signore, Bush Industries, and for the last 27 years, he was employed at Cutco. Perry pursued his passion for the Martial Arts, resulting in him earning black belts in Shotokan Karate and Taekwondo. During his free time, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his dog, fishing, hunting, camping, and most of all spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two children Perry (Deb Easley) Attwell, Jr. and Larena Attwell of Olean; three grandchildren Jonas Easley, Lence Easley, and Xaiver Attwell; two brother-in-laws Sherrie Bennett and William Matteson. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister and brother-in-law Beatrice and Steven Cliff, and two sisters Doris Bennett and Bonnie Matteson. No services are being scheduled at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig, and Hartle Funeral Home, Olean. Memorials if desired, may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.org, or any program supporting and assisting Veterans of the armed forces. |

Perry was my classmate, we were friends our whole life, we both served in the Army after High School, we would catch up at class reunions. The pic below was one of the reunions at Pat Blue's house, good times
