Christopher Scott Cash
Class of 1985
Army, 18 Years
Enlisted in US Army as a private in 1986. Served with the 82d Airborne Division as Airborne Ranger until 1990 when he left active duty and joined the North Carolina National Guard. After receiving a B.S. in Fitness Education from North Carolina Weslyan Chris attended Officer Candidate School and was commissioned as an officer in the North Carolina Army National Guard in 1995. Captain Christopher S. Cash was serving as the Commanding Officer, Co. A, 1st/120th Infantry battalion, 30th Heavy Seperate Brigade, 30th Brigade Combat Team when he was killed in action on June 24th, 2004 while leading his infantry company against insurgents in Baqubah, Iraq.
