Earlier this year, I was saddened by the news that Mr. Bill J. Dean, band director for many years had passed away. My wife Carolyn and I attended his funeral in Cedar Park, after which we were present at his burial in the Texas State Veterans Cemetery just outside of Killeen. I was honored to have had him for a music mentor through my years in the Big Red Band from Broncho Land! The world has lost one of the greats!
