I enjoyed my time in the Band. I remember the blizzard of the 77 school year (as best I recall!) when we were supposed to play against Permian. Friday afternoon the temperature was nice, but it started snowing and by game time for that night, we were in a full blizzard! The game was postponed until the next day because it had to be played then. As we were riding on the bus to the field that day, snow was deep and everywhere. The bus was filled with the song "Winder Wonderland" with reference to Coach Dick Winder who had brought our Bronchos very close to winning it all. I think the final score on Saturday was Bronchos 3 and Permian 6. The only scoring had been with field goals. I believe we could have beaten them if we had played Friday night instead of the next day. But that's the way it goes.
