About Me | After H.S. I went to work for the FBI in Washington, D.C. I moved to Florida in 1973 and have worked for the Miami-Dade Police Department ever since. Married since 1974 to Marjie who I met in Washington. She is a major crimes forensic investigator/supervisor. We have two children: Kelly, (DOB-1982) She graduated Florida State Univ. with a BA in Communications and a Masters in Urban Planning. Kelly was engaged in 2006 and the wedding date is pending. Billy (DOB-1984) received a congressional appointment to the US Military Academy USMMA in Kings Point, NY. Class of 2009, he is a Midshipmen in the Marine Enginnering Program. He plays defense end on the varisity football team. Both great kids. It seems I never stopped going to school (always part-time). A.A. 1973; B.A. 1976; M.S. 1990; and a J.D. 2000. Other Activities: Appointed by the Florida Supreme Court as a Court Mediator and as a child's advocate in abused, abandoned, and neglect cases; Judge in Broward County (Ft. Lauderdale) Teen Court Program; Serve as a Eucharistic minister at St. Mark Catholic Church; Advocate before the Archdiocese Tribunal representing Catholics seeking an annulment. NCAA Div. 1 Baseball Umpire and Commissioner of Div 1AA Football Officals; Div 1 Replay Official in the Atlantic Coast Conference. In 1999, I was as a referee in the movie "Any Given Sunday" filmed in the Orange Bowl, directed by Oliver Stone, starring: Al Pacino, Cameron Diaz, Jamie Foxx, Jim Brown, LL Cool J, Ann Margret, and Charlton Heston. Initially, I was initially hired as a "special talent extra" but later landed a Warner Bros. contract when Oliver Stone gave me scripted lines in some of the football scenes. While my work ended up on the cutting room floor - I was listed in the film's credits, get residual checks, and entitled to a Screen Actors Guild card. (See Google search - "Any Given Sunday" cast "William Hanlon") Vacation travel has included RV camping throughout the lower 48. Cruising the Caribbean and Alaska. European visits to Ireland, England, France, Germany, Austria, Italy, and Switzerland. Would like some day to visit the Holy Lands, Austrialia, and Hawaii. Other pending "things to do" include: parachute jump, dolphin swim, and private pilot license. Currently semi-retired. Have a 2nd home in an age restricted but very active adult community. A really great place called, "The Villages" in central Florida. Visit their website at thevillages.com. My kids call...(read more) |
