About	Steve Burgett married Susan Lowery in 1972 and had 4 children: Steve, Jr, Scott, Sunshine and Shawn; and 7 grandchildren. Drafted 1972 into the Army; served 2 years. He started and operated his own HVAC business. Outside of work he loved being an artist, musician, and spending time with family and friends. Steve enjoyed painting in public. He had "entered an art contest my sophomore year and won a scholarship to the Minnesota Art Institute. It was difficult for me because it was all correspondence, but I enjoyed it greatly...I've been painting off and on since I was in the 2nd grade. It wasn't until I found out I would be losing my eyesight (legally blind in 2016) that I really committed to painting with frequency." He had also lived in Delta Junction, Alaska. Late October, Steve was diagnosed with brain cancer; after surgery he spent over a month on the respirator, but was unweanable. Began end of life care 28 Nov and died in the Mansfield Hospital's Surgical ICU.
Events	I added Steve Burgett to my tree as a friend on familysearch.com, and was pleasantly surprised to discover in Jan 2025 that we were 13th cousins. His id is GKZD-2K5. sincerely, Elizabeth Ross.
