| About Me | My genealogy research is a very important part of my life and I hope to pass that interest and the information I have on to my grandchildren. When I was their ages I knew only that my father's name was Davis and he was born in Tennessee and my mother's name was Moores and she was born in Newfoundland. I found that my appearance indicated to others that my suggested to others that my Davis heritage appeared to indicate that I was something other than Welch and Moores which was an English name. I now know I have grandmothers who came from Ireland and Scotland, but nothing to suggest anyone exotic except maybe a Cherokee connection. Family names are Hale, Travis, Buttram, Harman, Lipton/Tipton, McFarland, French, Flint, Payne, Burdette, Patterson, Dunbar, Clay, Wilson, Innes, Belcher, Gooding, Bartlett, Bailey, Mitchell, Frogley, Isham, James, and many others on my father's side. All were from Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia, and most everyone in West Virginia. On my mother's side, I have Penney, Butt, Noel, Wareham, Pottle, Barrett, My children have married into Gibbs, Hall, Lusk, Burdine, Hudson, Wellman, Hoppel, Blevins, Gilmore, Young, Petricco, Tartaglia, Webb, Lansdowne, Larson, Simms, Lundahl, Singe, Rogers families from Arkansas, Lou...(read more) |
