Dr. Robert W. Gaines, Jr.
Class of 1960
It is my high honor to introduce to the Oakwood High School Distinguished Alumni Association, a former citizen of your community, and a 1960 graduate of Oakwood High School, Dr. Robert W. Gaines, Jr., for consideration of membership in your honorable association.
Dr. Bob, as he is known to his family and friends, is a world renowned surgeon, who is based at the University Of Missouri, in Columbia, Missouri.
Following his graduation from Oakwood High School in 1960, Dr. Gaines attended The University Of Cincinnati and subsequently, Duke University.
Dr. Gaines accomplishments and credentials are many, and will be included with this introduction to his work.
One of his distinguished contributions to his profession and the world, is his development of a new surgical technique for scoliosis patients. Dr. Gaines currently travels around the world, to teach fellow surgeons; as well as, having doctors visit him at the University of Missouri, to give seminars on his special surgical technique.
Enclosed you will find additional documentation regarding Dr. Robert W. Gaines, Jr and his exceptional career. I, William C. Gaines, cousin of Robert, recommend him very highly to you, as a distinguished member of the University of Missouri medical staff.
