I was the first class to attend Oakville in 1971 when it was being built and could only house Freshman the first year. We had to then attend Mehlville for sophomore and junior year. Upon comepletion of the school right before our senior year, our class was give the choice of coming back and being the First Graduating Class Of Oakville High. We were promised that our class picture would hang in the hallway as an honor. So, I chose Oakville and enjoyed the new school, small and classes and air conditioning. I was able to do well enough to get the best grades of my high school years. But, I never did like the look of the front facade as it reminded me of a concrete prison. Ha ha
