BRIDGES, EDWIN E., JR. - age 64 of Knoxville passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at his home. Member of Mascot United Methodist Church and a graduate of UT with Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Provided 37 years of service to General Shale Brick, Inc.; served 24 years as plant manager in Knoxville, TN and Roanoke, VA.
Preceded in death by father, Edwin E. Bridges, Sr.; and mother, Evelyn Ogle Bridges.
Survived by
his wife, Jean Hurst Bridges;
daughters, Elizabeth Griffin [daughter of 1st wife, Barbara Jean Reid] and husband Tony,
Melissa Van Wert [2nd wife Cheryl Huckslee Molley's daughter whose father was killed in Vietnam] and husband George,
Becky Thomason and husband John,
and Sandi Simpson and husband Jim;
and grandchildren, Matthew Thomason, Daniel Thomason, Stephanie Simpson, Eddie Griffin, Tommy Griffin, Julianna Tilson, Graham Simpson, and Kevin Tilson.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, June 19, 2010, in the chapel at Bridges Funeral Home followed by the interment at Roseberry Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM Friday at Bridges Funeral Home, 5430 Rutledge Pike, 865-523-4999. www.bridgesfuneralhome.com
