About	Luis survived 66 years past the date of his spinal cord injury, which occurred during a football game at Vale, OR, on October 9, 1953. He was never resentful--said that was just the game. He was a mental health counselor, then school counselor for most of his career. He loved his high school class and did not miss many reunions.
