| About Me | After obtaining my PhD in Genetics in 1970, I did post doctoral research in the Dept. of Animal Sciences at UCD before accepting an assistant professorship in 1974 at Binghamton University, one of the four doctoral campuses of the State University of New York. I just retired at the rank of SUNY Distinguished Service Professor from BU after 42 years. While in the Department of Biological Sciences, I served as chair, director of graduate studies, and member or chair of numerous committees. I was the major professor of over 50 MA, MS and PhD graduate students. My research program centered on the immunology, endocrinology and genetics of female reproduction. I was fortunate to have had NIH and NSF funding to support my research students and lab. Throughout my career I was very active in faculty governance at the campus and SUNY system levels. Additional service included numerous professional society officer/board of directors, professional journal editorial boards and state/federal/international grants review panels.
