NORWOOD- Richard A. Morgan, 2642 CR 35, Norwood, passed away Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026.



Richard was born January 8, 1956, in Potsdam, New York, to Ruby Z. (Matson) and Clyde M. Morgan. He attended Norwood Elementary School and then graduated from Norwood-Norfolk Central School in 1974. He attended Canton ATC (SUNY Canton) and graduated in 1976 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. After graduation he worked for a short time at the Hi-Fi Shop in Massena. In 1979 he began work at the New York Power Authority until he retired in 2011.



He married Deborah A. Gang in 1976. Together they raised two children; daughter Aimee L. Morgan (Dan Morrill) Novato, CA; and son, Jason M. Morgan, Massena.



He is survived by his brother, David (Judy) Morgan, Hannawa Falls; and sister, Carol Gardner (Morgan) Florida. He was predeceased by his brothers, Wayne and Robert Morgan; and a sister Dorothy Kersey (Morgan), and both parents.



Rick was an avid motorcyclist, loved snowmobiling with friends, enjoyed classic cars and vintage snowmobiles and was a ham radio operator. He was extremely proud of his children and their accomplishments. He loved spending time with their cats and loved animals and nature. It was where he truly felt at peace.

Our condolences go out to Deb and family. Rick was an awesome friend in school (Deb too). He was bright, sharp witted, hilariously funny and, although we haven't kept in touch since school, he'll always have a place in our hearts.
