| About | NORWOOD - Graveside services for Edward "Pete" Jarvis, 84, a resident of Massena, NY and formerly of Norwood, will be held in? Calvary Cemetery?, Norwood in the spring. Pete passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, January 13, 2026, at the Massena Rehabilitation and Nursing Center after a brief stay. Pete is survived by his wife? of 46 years, Gloria Stiles Jarvis?. He raised and loved two daughters, Amy Smith (Husband Mickey Smith) of Dickinson Center, NY? and Angela Deshane (Husband, Alex Deshane) of Massena, NY. The daughters had the honor of giving him 4 Grandchildren and 13 Great-Grandchildren. Pete is also survived by a brother, Bernard "Bump" and Sharon Jarvis, Norwood and two sisters, Marion Clark and Patricia Gibson, both of Norwood as well.? Pete also has 1? niece and 10 nephews among his siblings. Pete was pre-deceased by his parents, William Jarvis and Gladys Davey Jarvis, a Brother-in-Law, Dwight Gibson, brother Jerry Laramay as well as nephews, Tom & Peter Jarvis and Jason Edward Gibson. Pete grew up in Norwood on his parents' farm. He was raised with values that would make any parent proud to see they were passed down to the 2 girls he raised.? He worked at Alcoa as a Millwright for 38 years of his life? and served in the US Army Reserves for 6 years. When he retired from Alcoa, he then 100% could live out the simple things in life. He enjoyed hunting and camping? and he was a Black Powder Enthusiast. The family gatherings with a "no fuss" always put a smile on his face. Seeing others happy and loved is what made him thrive in life. He had the honor and privilege to share his memories with his "extended family", that will forever be a place in his heart as well as theirs.?
