About	NORWOOD -- Laura I. Wilber, 54, Madison, Wis., formerly of Norwood, died May 15 in Madison. She had been ill with cancer. Funeral and interment were in Madison. Surviving are her mother, Irene Wilber, Norwood, and several uncles, aunts and cousins. Her father, Charles Wilber, died in 1988. Born in Potsdam on April 9, 1940, a daughter of Charles "Chic" and Irene Levison Wilber, she was a 1957 graduate of Norwood-Norfolk Central School, where she was class valedictorian. She received a bachelor's degree in chemistry from St. Lawrence University and a master's degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She received an award from the Northern New York and Clarkson chapters of the American Chemical Society for her exhibit on silicone at the 12th annual Northern New York Science Fair held at Clarkson University in May 1957. Miss Wilber was employed with the University of Wisconsin as a clinical chemist in the state laboratory for the past 33 years.
