About	Carolyn A. Purvis Obituary NORFOLK – A Mass of Christian Burial for Carolyn A. Purvis, 73, a resident of 6 west High Street, Norfolk, will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Visitation in Norfolk with Rev. Andrew Amyot presiding. Burial will be in the Visitation Cemetery, Norfolk. Following the services, a luncheon will be held at the Norfolk American Legion. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. Mrs. Purvis passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 7, 2024 with her family at her side. Carolyn is survived by her husband of 47 years Donald "Donnie", Norfolk; her son, Jason Purvis, Massena; her two daughters, Angela and Benjamen Regan, Massena and Jessica and Zachary Long, Syracuse; her four beloved grandchildren, Lucas, Evan and Kara Regan and Wesley Long and was awaiting the birth of her fifth grandchild in September. Carolyn is also survived by her brother, Fred Goodnow and his companion Kim Cramer, Deltona, FL and her sister, Marilyn and Leo Palmer, Port St. Lucie, FL as well as several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Harold and Wiletta. Born in Potsdam, NY on June 27, 1951 to the late Harold P. "Tuffy" and Wiletta Hotaling Goodnow, Carolyn graduated from Norwood-Norfolk Central School, Class of 1969. She continued her education at North Country Community College and graduated as an LPN. She married Donald I. Purvis on August 7, 1976 at the Church of the Visitation in Norfolk. Carolyn worked for a time in Lake Placid and then took a position at the Highland Nursing Home in Massena. Carolyn worked there for some time and then became a devoted homemaker, raising her family and providing childcare. She was a communicate of the Church of the Visitation in Norfolk and was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. In her free time, Carolyn enjoyed reading and gardening, but found her most enjoyment came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to watch them play sports.
