Nancy L. Walker Obituary
Norfolk: The family of Nancy L. Walker, age 64, are sadden to report her passing, after a brief illness on May 14, 2025, at Canton-Potsdam Hospital surrounded by her family. The family has entrusted arrangements to the Phillips Memorial Home in Massena.
As per her wish’s there will be no calling hours or services at this time. A Celebration of Life will take place at the convenience of the family at the Massena American Legion Post No. 79, at a later date.
Nancy was born on July 31, 1960, in Niagara Falls, NY, to the late Paul and Kay (Laraby) Tiernan.
She had attended local school and was a Norwood-Norfolk Central graduate.
She continued with her studies at Canton ATC where she obtained a degree, as Emergence Medical Technician. She worked for Massena for Seaway Valley Ambulance for over 10 years and later began a career as a Home Health Aide in Louisville, NY for nearly 15 years.
Nancy enjoyed tending to her flowers and teaching the older grandchildren how to drive as well as taking them on long adventures with windows down and music loud! Nancy’s truest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She spent most of her free time watching the grandkids play sports, riding atvs and just enjoying every second with the family. Nancy was truly a kind and generous soul. She will be truly missed by all. She made a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Nancy is survived by her companion Erik Thrana of Norfolk, NY, her children, Michael Stevens and companion Amber Aldous of Raymondville, NY and his twin sister Sarah Stevens, of Norwood, NY, daughter Elizabeth and husband Joseph Mann of Chase Mills, NY and daughter Kristine Stevens of Raymondville, NY. Nancy is also survived by her seven grandchildren: Alycia Walker, Raygan Colby, Brianna Colby, Kaylinn Mann, Mason Stevens, Ethan Colby, and Clifford Mann. Also surviving Nancy are her siblings, Rick Tiernan of Norfolk, NY, Mark Tiernan of Watertown, NY, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her companion Ray Stevens on August 20, 1991.
