About	per Donaldson Funeral Home, Norfolk: Loris H. King, 86, of Hutchins Street, Norfolk, peacefully passed away on March 2, 2025 at Fort Hudson Nursing Home in Fort Edward, NY. Loris was born on May 28, 1938 in Potsdam, NY, the daughter of Louis and Irene (Maurer) Honer. She graduated from Norwood-Norfolk High School in 1955 and continued on to SUNY Plattsburgh. Loris received her Masters from SUNY Potsdam in 1972 and went on to teach Elementary School at Madrid-Waddington, Norwood-Norfolk and St. Lawrence Central School. Loris married Bernard “Bunny” King on August 22, 1959 at Norfolk United Methodist Church. He later predeceased her on March 23, 2017. Loris was very active in Norfolk United Methodist Church and was a Girl Scout Leader for many years. She also was involved with Friends of Hepburn Library in Norfolk where she was a board member. Loris enjoyed Crane concerts and musicals, reading and gardening. Loris is survived by her children, Sarah (Raymond) Del Signore of Saratoga Springs and Gregory (Denise) King of Nolensville, TN; four grandchildren, Lauren, Anthony, Mitchell and Logan; a step-grandchild, Brendon; two great grandchildren, Lina and Sena; a sister, Barbara Bridenbaugh of Potomac Falls, VA. She was predeceased by her husband Bernard and her parents. A Graveside Service will take place at a later time in Bixby Cemetery in Norfolk. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Loris’s name to the Norfolk Hepburn Library.
