Miss my "favorite" brother every sincle day. There has been no one quite like him in my life. Thankful that his daughter, Angie and her husband Fred, have taken over his beloved apple orchard.

NORFOLK Funeral services for 74 year old Walter F. Shyne, a resident of 41 Furnace Street, Norfolk and formerly of the Plumbrook Road, will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Visitation in Norfolk with Rev. Msgr. John Murphy presiding. Burial will be held in the Visitation Cemetery, Norfolk. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk on Friday from 4-7 p.m. Mr. Shyne passed away Wednesday morning at his home.
Walter is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jean, Norfolk; three sons and their wives, Edward F. and Susan, South Carolina; Walter J. and Peggy, Syracuse; Darrel M. and Merri, Ohio; his three daughters and their husbands, Melody M. and Terry McDonald, Syracuse; Angie M. and Fred Conger, Massena; Kindie A. and Mason Dufore, California; fourteen grandchildren, two great-grandsons and a great-granddaughter too be born in August. Walter is also survived by his brother James and Helen Shyne, Long Island; a sister Mary and Edward Mitchell, Georgia and his sister-in-law, Pamela Shyne, Knapps Station. He was pre-deceased by his parents and a brother, Darrel.
Born in Tupper Lake, NY on April 21, 1941 to the late Francis E. and Philena Brean Shyne, Walter married Jean Arno on April 28, 1962. Walter worked in production for General Motors in Massena for 31 years. He enjoyed hunting and crafts, but his passion and dream was J & W Orchards. He spent countless hours tending to his apple trees and attending many farmers markets in the surrounding area. He also enjoyed his dog Cocos companionship.
